Shabbat · Who Desecrates Shabbat for the Ill

Who qualifies as 'orchim' (guests) such that one may violate shevut to prepare for them?

The Rema specifies that 'guests' means either those residing in the host's home or those invited to reside at another's home. A friend simply invited to share a meal does not qualify, and the meal is considered optional (reshut), not a mitzvah meal.
