Rashba
R' Shlomo ben Aderet (1235-1310) was a leading Sephardic halakhic authority in Barcelona during the late 13th and early 14th centuries. He authored extensive responsa (Teshuvot HaRashba) and novellae on the Talmud (Chiddushei HaRashba) that became foundational texts in Sephardic jurisprudence. The Rashba was a dominant figure in Spanish Jewish life, serving as a communal leader and decisor whose rulings shaped halakhic practice across the Mediterranean world.
