How should one put on an undergarment (chaluq) in the morning — while lying down, sitting, or standing?
Synopsis
All authorities require one to insert head and arms into the undergarment while still lying under the bedclothes, so that upon rising one is already covered. Dressing from a seated position is prohibited because it inevitably exposes part of the body.
