When a Jew and non-Jew are both working together every day of the week, and on Shabbat the non-Jew works alone — may the Jew share in the Shabbat profits?
Synopsis
Some authorities hold that when both partners work together all weekdays and the non-Jew alone works on Shabbat (without the Jew doing a compensating day), the non-Jew is acting on his own initiative, not as the Jew's agent. The Rema permits the Jew to share in all profits but requires Shabbat profits to be absorbed (havla'ah) within the week.
