Is one permitted to shake out a garment soaked with water or drenched by rain on Shabbat?

ShabbatGarment Care

Synopsis

The Rema rules that shaking a garment soaked with water or rain is even more strictly prohibited than shaking dew, applying to all colors (not just black), but only to new garments one is particular about. The Mishnah Berurah adds that there is also a concern of sechitah (squeezing) and that even old garments must not be shaken vigorously if soaked.
