If tzitzit already exist on a garment, and one adds a second set, what is the rule?
Synopsis
If one adds tzitzit to a garment that already has valid tzitzit, the validity depends on intent. If the intent is to nullify the first set (by cutting it), the second set becomes valid. If the intent is merely to add, all sets remain invalid until one is removed. Before either set is cut, all are invalid.
