Must one inspect a tallit for valid tzitzit before wearing it on Shabbat in the public domain?
Synopsis
The Rema and most authorities rule that one need not inspect the tallit before going out on Shabbat due to the chazakah (presumption) that it is properly fitted, provided it was checked during the weekday blessing. However, authorities differ on whether inspection is required at the moment of initial wearing.
