If the eruv was lost, burned, became impure (as terumah), or rolled beyond four cubits — does timing (before or after nightfall) affect its validity, and how is doubt resolved?
Synopsis
If disruption occurred before nightfall the eruv is invalid; after nightfall it is valid (acquisition occurs at twilight). Doubt is resolved leniently if the eruv had presumed validity, strictly if there was no such presumption.
