When acquiring eruv techumin by foot (bein hashmashot) on the second day of a Shabbat-Yom Tov combination, may one verbally declare the eruv?
Synopsis
It is forbidden to make any preparation from Yom Tov for Shabbat (or vice versa) even verbally. Therefore, when acquiring eruv by foot on day two, one must do so silently. Whether a verbal declaration after-the-fact invalidates the eruv is disputed.
