Is the leniency for kid or fowl (sectioned) near an open fire dependent on whether the animal body is whole?
Synopsis
The Mechaber permits sectioned kid or fowl near open fire. The Rema clarifies that a whole animal body (even without head and legs attached) retains the 'whole' status. Only a sectioned animal gets the leniency in the Rema's system (only in covered oven).
