What exactly does 'Poreis al Sh'ma' consist of — does it include the full blessing of Yotzer Or or only Kaddish and Barchu?
Synopsis
The Mechaber rules that Poreis al Sh'ma consists of Kaddish, Barchu, and the first blessing Yotzer Or (no more). The Rema records the later Ashkenazi custom of saying only Kaddish and Barchu, after which the congregation responds 'Baruch Hashem...' — without reciting the full Yotzer Or blessing.
