Is Poreis al Sh'ma performed during the evening (Ma'ariv) service as it is in the morning (Shacharit)?
Synopsis
Some authorities (Kol Bo, Ran) hold that Poreis al Sh'ma can be done for the evening Sh'ma just as for the morning. The Rema rules that the Ashkenazi custom is not to do so in the evening, because there is no Kaddish before the Barchu of Ma'ariv. The Aruch HaShulchan partially disagrees, holding that Barchu alone can be done in the evening.
