May a blind person perform Poreis al Sh'ma and recite the blessing 'Yotzer HaMaorot' (Who forms the lights)?
Synopsis
The Mechaber explicitly rules that a blind person may perform Poreis al Sh'ma and recite 'Yotzer HaMaorot,' because although he has never seen light, he benefits from others seeing — they guide him on his way. The Taz explains why this ruling needed to be stated explicitly.
